The Swallowtail Jig

The Swallowtail Jig is an excellent tune for us to learn as beginners. It is a tune we are able to play given the learning we have put in so far.

It is also short enough for us to use in learning by ear. Please use the music and tabs, but try and learn the basics of the tune by watching and playing along with me.

The Swallowtail Jig is also a great tune for us to get into the flow of the rhythm of a Jig. As we learn the tune, let’s learn the core of one of the traditional versions. From here we can then add our own ornamentation.
