In this video I share the reasons why we add ornaments to the traditional music we play. This can actually be described as ornaments, embellishments, and expression. There is a reasonably common group of traditional Irish ornaments when playing the tin whistle. Many add embellishments like runs and trills in places. I also include expression which is the word used to describe the ways we add emotion to the tunes we play.
