Jig and Ornament Practice Recommendation

In today’s video we begin working on adding ornaments into the flow of a jig.

In order for us to do this we need to get a better feel for the flow of a jig. I selected the beginning of three jigs, and we will walk through the first three measures of each.

Once we know these measures we can then experiment with adding ornaments to them. Doing this will help us learn the feel of a jig as well as how we might add ornaments into the rhythm.

The three jigs are: The Lark in the Morning, The Leitrim Fancy, The Kesh.
