In today’s video I introduce the tune For Ireland I’d Not Tell Her Name. This is a beautiful and thoughtful tune for us to play.

I tell the story behind the tune, play through it with no ornaments apart from tonguing to differentiate between some of the notes, and we review any possible trouble spots and think through possible ornaments.

Someone has said that a better translation that interprets the phrase would say, I will not tell you her name even if you promised to give me all of Ireland.
