Metronome and other Timekeeping / Play Along Resources

Hi, friends.

In today’s video we look at different tools available to us that we can use to learn to keep consistent time as we play.

First, please do not feel bad if you have a difficult time playing tunes at the same speed all the way through the tune. This is a common challenge.

We can play with someone, either in person or through a recording. Services like YouTube permit us to speed up and slow down recordings. We can use a website like The Session. This website provides a playback feature for each tune. You can set the speed of the playback as fast or slow as you like.

We can also use a metronome. You can use a physical one, or an app. If you decide to use a metronome, use it simply to keep pace. They can become quite complicated. As I said, there are many resources available to us.
