Irish Tune Types: Waltz

Hi, friends.

In this video we introduce the Irish tune type, the Waltz.

Yes, many cultures have adopted the waltz, but each culture has made this type of tune their own. This is why I say it is an Irish tune type.

We will find some waltz tunes that were written another countries, but many were written in Ireland.

This type of tune is written in a 3/4 time setting and has a dance feel. The word waltz itself means to spin or twirl.
